About Us

Kaye MooreI grew up in a small town in Kentucky where I was surrounded with quilts. My grandmothers quilted – my mother quilted – my aunts quilted. Little did I know when I was playing with my dolls and dishes under the quilt frame while the women quilted above me that I would one day be as involved with quilting as I am.

I traveled many roads before discovering the possibility of making quilting a career. My first quilt show was Paducah about 22 years ago and I have been vending at the major quilt shows around the country since then.

About 12 years ago I finally settled into appliqué using hand-dyed wools as my specialty and started the pattern division of my business. A few years ago I was offered the opportunity to teach on a national level and have enjoyed that more than I would have ever expected. Being a vendor does not give much time to spend with customers, but being a teacher gives me at least a three hour block of time to hear what interests my students and to hear from them directly how quilting has touched their lives.

When my husband retired about five years ago – he had owned his own business for about 30 years – he started traveling with me. Having him on the road had been a huge help and he has learned more about quilting than he ever dreamed he would when he was writing software all those years.

I hope you like the new format of my website and that you will visit me there often. I’m always happy to get emails with suggestions or comments and make it a priority to answer all your questions.
